Net Impact's Bringing Business Skills to the Nonprofit Sector addresses the potential of a promising group of candidates: MBA graduates.
Through a study of over 1,700 nonprofit job postings, 200 nonprofit and business leaders, and 1,850 current MBA students, Net Impact analyzes the current landscape of MBA-level nonprofit jobs.
Some key findings include:
- Nonprofits with a focus on education and health and human services are the heaviest recruiters of MBAs.
- Demand is high for individuals with an MBA skill set in the nonprofit sector, but organizations are concerned about their ability to attract top talent and provide competitive compensation packages.
- 71% of current MBAs indicate that they are interested in working in the nonprofit sector at some point during their career, but only 6% say they would like to enter into nonprofits immediately.
