The Net Impact Professional Chapter is pleased to partner with the UT Undergraduate Chapter as they present a debate on Cap and Trade vs. Carbon Tax at 6pm to 7:30pm on Wednesday the 18th at the UT campus. Join the debate between Professors James Nolen and John Doggett as they battle each other over which policy will get businesses to clean up better.
Representatives from local companies Carbon Clear, GT Environmental Finance, and Carbon Shrinks will join the stage to enrich the discussion during Q&A. The debate is being held on campus in GSB 2.124.
Learn more about the event from the Undergrad Chapters Facebook Page and come early. Though the room holds 150 people, we expect it to fill to capacity. Here is a map to find the lecture hall and nearby parking.
After the debate, join Net Impact Austin along with Net Impact members from UT-McCombs MBA Chapter and the UT Undergraduate Chapter for an open to all networking event from 8pm-10pm at the Dog and Duck Pub located at 406 W 17th Street just west of campus. Our speakers will be on hand to continue the conversation on green initiatives over ice cold beer. This is an open networking event so bring your friends and meet other sustainability minded folks. Net Impact Austin, along with the Dog and Duck, will be providing snacks and appetizers.
